Validation of the Bible

"As for me, I will certainly not sin against the Lord by ending my prayers for you. And i will continue to teach you what is good and right. But be sure to fear the Lord and sincerely worship him." - 1 Samuel 12:23-24

This verse came to me just before posting the following. Talk about straight from will of God Almighty!

The purpose behind this post is to take a minute to explain the need for this blog that I started, for my own life, as well as for yours.....

Why do I want, or even care, to share the fulfilled prophecies of the Bible? There are two fairly simple reasons that lead to only one conclusion. My desire is to show the accuracy and credibility of the Bible and to familiarize and provide a fruitful need for God's Word.

When someone is proven to be accurate, that person is highly sought after for the use of their ability or skill that was on display. In other words, if a geologist's predictions of an earthquake's time-frame and location are proven to be spot-on time after time, he would be in high demand by countless agencies for his guidance. He would be the pinnacle of credibility among his peers.

However, to be fruitful to the above agencies, the geologist had to be flawless, but in a field that is useful in some form or fashion. If his field of expertise was ant civilizations, then I feel he would be fairly useless to the majority of society. That is why I am focusing on the proven predictions in the Bible that benefit our lives the most. Those topics are more likely to become ingrained in us and give us the Word we need to prosper.

Conclusion: There is a reason behind almost everything we do in life. Whether its playing an XBOX (for entertainment) or planting a tree (to enhance our home's landscape), we have an underlying reason for our actions. The same holds true for my motives with this blog. My higher purpose is to provide us with fact-filled truths that were predicted and came to pass. And as we see these facts, over and over, we will be able to agree that the Bible is extremely accurate and credible. Also, we will be able to relate most of these posts to our own lives!

This brings me to the greatest purpose of all. Due to the fact that these Bible prophecies are true, can we not also agree that what it says about the way we live, heaven and hell, our soul and what is yet to come is also true as well? The more thought we put into this, the more sense it surely makes! The next step for us is to read our Bibles and arm ourselves with its truths and wisdom!

PROPHECIES FULFILLED BY JESUS CHRIST

The Old Testament of the Bible contains over 300 references or “prophecies” to the coming Son of God, Jesus. This book of the Bible was written over a 1000 year span. These prophecies make it almost common sense to draw the conclusion that Jesus was God’s one and only son!

Because some “prophecies” or “visions” throughout our history have been staged or completed by someone who read the prophecies, our culture’s opinion on the general subject has been marred. So, we will remove any of them that could’ve been staged and focus on the one’s that are outside of man’s control. Birth: manner in which it happened, location and time; Death: events that took place and people’s reactions to it; Resurrection: the fact that His body just disappeared and the circumstances around it made it out of man’s control. These things are what we will focus on. If we were to use the science of probability, any man that could have lived and fulfilled only eight prophecies would be a one in a trillion chance! To paint a picture for you, I will use an outstanding analogy used by surewest.net on this very subject. You could take a trillion silver dollars and lay them face down to cover the surface of Texas and you would create a covering that’s 2 feet deep! Now, as you were covering the entire state, you took one coin and you put a red X on it. Next, you blindfold a person, let him travel as far through the 2 foot deep, Texas-sized mass of coins, and tell him that he can only bring back one. Do you really think he’ll bring back the one with a red X on it? Considering that illustration, Jesus didn’t fulfill eight prophecies. He fulfilled over 300! Man could not have written these prophecies without God’s guidance.

Babylon will be reduced to a swampland!

Babylon was a nation that was a world power at two different durations in history. Now, I'm not claiming to know every detail about the Babylonians, however, even those of us who do not study history know that they were a very large civilization and had the ability to conquer and destroy nations. The first question is, why would God destroy this nation? Isn't God loving and merciful? The answer is "YES!". He only has destroyed nations (which I will prove in later teachings) that turned their back on him and worshiped idols. These nations became the essence of evil, and, after giving them their many chances, God had to rid the world of this evil. Also, (which will be another teaching) if you haven't taken a keen interest in the world around you, it is becoming more and more evil everyday. God is only going to give us chances for so long, after which, He will judge this "civilization" as well!

Returning to our current topic, In Isaiah 14:22-23, the prophet Isaiah said that Babylon would be brought to a humble and final end. It would be reduced to swampland. Cyrus conquered Babylon in 539 BC and the world never witnessed Babylon's return. The mighty walls of Babylon have deteriorated to almost nothing. Archaeologists have exhausted all efforts to explore Babylon during the 1800s. There are many parts of this once-great city that cannot be examined because they are under water, or in a swamp.

Isaiah 14:22-23: 22 "For I will rise up against them," says the Lord, "And cut off from Babylon the name and remnant, and offspring and posterity," says the Lord. 23 "I will also make it a possession for the porcupine, and marshes of muddy water; I will sweep it with the broom of destruction." says the Lord

If you would like to know more of what brought on the destruction of Babylon, read the entire chapter 14 of Isaiah. To put it in a nutshell the King first fell because of his evil ways and then the Kingdom, because of theirs.

Daniel predicts Jesus will come!

As we go forward in proving God's word, we will start in the Old Testament and go over many of the fulfilled prophecies that lie there.... Daniel the prophet predicted, in about 538 BC, that Jesus would come to the Earth and then die. He gave a specific time frame for this to happen, and, hundreds of years later, it did! (Daniel 9:24-26):

²⁴Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and upon thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.

²⁵Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.

²⁶And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.

When he said "to anoint the most Holy", he was referring to anointing, which was what they did for Kings and Princes, God's Holy One, which would be the Messiah. Also, when he said the Messiah would be cutoff, but not for himself, he meant the Messiah would die appearing to have accomplished nothing. 7 weeks and another 3 score and 2 weeks (62) weeks means 7x7 and 62x7. In other words, the B.C. week is 7 years, not days. This is 483 years! Now, in those times, a calendar year was only 360 days. So, this time span is 173,880 days.

According to the Book of Nehemiah, the command to rebuild Jerusalem was given in the 20^th year of the reign of Artaxerxes (446 B.C.). Now, if you count forward 173,880 days from the "commandment to restore and rebuild Jerusalem", this would put us at A.D. 31! Who was this mysterious man, that appeared at this time and was killed, appearing He accomplished nothing? You got it, Jesus Christ! Daniel was a prophet of God and was just repeating what God had laid on his heart. Our God loves us very much, and, even though he gives us free will to choose our life's course, he made sure that people, like Daniel, did things to prove His Word! This gives Christians another "weapon" in their arsenal to use in leading others to Christ.

The purpose of this Blog Site will be to relay the ongoing processes that professionals go through, in order to prove the Bible's accuracy regarding its predictions. Some of these have already happened, which we'll get into that, and some have yet to happen. The events that have already taken place are what we will be focused on, for the most part. However, there are some events and/or structures that are in-progress, as archeologists scramble to put clues together. These, will be touched on with a "facts only" approach. Any and all posts on this blog will be proven, not suspected. I hope you enjoy these reading as much as I will enjoy doing the research! And, at anytime that you feel that I have misspoken or posted something that is not verifiable or false, then please accept my invitation to message me so that I may correct this error or provide facts to solidify the information.
